Metropolitan or MetLife Insurance Company, offers a variety of insurance products in addition to home, vehicle, and other types of property and liability insurance. MetLife car insurance coverage options
MetLife provides all conventional auto insurance coverages — comprehensive, collision, and liability — as well as uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, personal injury protection (PIP), and rental car coverage. The table below includes example prices for various types of drivers, as well as information on the extra features and options available with a MetLife auto insurance policy. Please keep in mind that not all of these alternatives may be accessible in your state. Before acquiring insurance, consult with your MetLife agent.
New car replacement
If your brand new vehicle is totaled within the first year of ownership or 15,000 miles (whichever comes first), MetLife will repair or replace it without regard for depreciation. This does not apply to vehicles leased for more than six months or to vehicles that are not owned.
Special parts replacement coverage
MetLife will replace some car parts destroyed in an insured loss. This applies to tires, batteries, brake components, steering or electrical wiring, but not if these components are stolen. MetLife will replace these without taking depreciation into account.
Enhanced rental car damage coverage
This adds additional coverage in the event that your rental automobile is damaged as a result of a covered loss. MetLife will work with the rental car agency to avoid extra costs, such as penalties and charges, the diminished market value of the damaged rental automobile, and loss of use of that vehicle.
Glass repairs without a deductible
Even the best among us can sustain auto glass damage. MetLife will fix a chipped or broken windshield and waive your deductible.
Roadside assistance service and towing reimbursement
MetLife will pay roadside assistance expenses and even cover the cost of towing if your car breaks down on the side of the road.
Gap coverage for leases or loans
Even if the balance on your lease or loan is greater than the vehicle’s worth, MetLife will pay off your automobile if it is totaled in an accident.
Legal defense cost coverage
MetLife will pay your legal expenses and will also refund you up to $200 per day for missed wages if you are sued.
MetLife insurance discounts and reward programs
When looking for auto insurance, it’s prudent to seek for discounts, and MetLife provides many alternatives to help you save money on your monthly rates. Again, bear in mind that these may change according to your location.
Deductible savings benefit
You can earn $50 for each year you go without filing a claim (up to a maximum of $250), which can be applied to your deductible for a covered loss.
Multi-policy discount
It’s usually a good idea to bundle your insurance plans with the same insurer, since this might result in lower insurance prices. If you purchase multiple types of insurance, such as car and homes or auto and life, MetLife provides a discount of up to 10% on a bundle.
Multi-car discount
Reduced prices are available if you insure more than two vehicles under the same policy. For more information, contact your MetLife representative.
Good student discount
Your academic achievements may result in some discounts while searching for new auto insurance. The MetLife good student discount is available to students under the age of 25 who are enrolled in high school, community college, full-time college, graduate school, or vocational or technical programs and who fulfill MetLife’s academic standards.
Student away discount
Students under the age of 25 may qualify for this discount if they fulfill MetLife’s particular requirements: they must live at least 100 miles away from home and have limited access to the insured car. This is an advantageous insurance savings if you rarely drive but want the confidence of having insurance coverage when you do.
Superior driver discount
MetLife offers a discount to drivers with an outstanding driving record.
Defensive driver discount
If you have had your license for at least two years and successfully completed a MetLife-approved defensive driving course, you may be eligible for a three-year discount. This course is designed to educate and reinforce safe driving practices and to make you a more defensive and safe driver in general. This course is also available online.

Safety and anti-theft devices discount
MetLife may reward you with a discount on your automobile insurance coverage if you install a qualifying safety system or anti-theft device — such as passive and active disabling systems.
My Journey® program
My Journey® is MetLife’s telematics service, which is currently available in a limited number of states. Enrolling and downloading the mobile app allows you to log your journeys, analyze your driving behaviors, and receive a driving score. You may save up to 10% on your vehicle insurance simply by registering, which can be increased to 30% depending on your safe driving score at the time of renewal. The program is valid for a maximum of six months, but you retain the savings on your premium.
Is MetLife the best insurance company for you?
MetLife most certainly has the capacity to offer you the automobile insurance you want. The company’s coverage options, features, and savings are comparable to those offered by competitors, and you can be certain that you will be insured and protected in the event of an accident. Certain MetLife auto insurance benefits, such as no-deductible special parts replacement and glass repairs, may be very beneficial if you are involved in fender benders or other small incidents.
However, you should always search around for the greatest deal when purchasing a new vehicle insurance coverage. Because insurance companies use a variety of criteria when calculating your premium, such as your age, location, driving history, and credit score, the cost may vary significantly across insurers. You should choose the appropriate insurance for your circumstances and car, one that falls within your budget and offers the amount of coverage you require.
