How safe is the Ram 1500?
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the 2017 Ram 1500 a 4-Star Overall Safety Rating (NHTSA). Both the frontal collision and rollover crash tests earned four out of five ratings. Five stars were awarded for the side crash test. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) also evaluated the Ram 1500’s crash worthiness.
The small overlap and roof strength crash tests both earned a mediocre safety rating. The moderate overlap front crash test, side impact crash test, and rear crash protection test all got the maximum possible safety grade of “good.”
Anti-lock brakes, blind spot monitoring, and stability control are standard on the Ram 1500 model.
