How safe is the Jeep Renegade?
Both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have just completed testing on the newest model of the Jeep Renegade. The Jeep Renegade earned a rating of 4 stars in overall vehicle safety by the NHTSA. Both the frontal crash test and the rollover crash test were given four out of five stars in the test by Car & Driver magazine. It received a maximum five-star rating in the side crash test.
In testing the IIHS found that the small overlap front crash test did not get rated, and that the rear crash protection test was not included. In contrast to the other crash tests, the maximum possible rating was given to the one conducted by the IIHS. Additional safety features, including the sophisticated front collision prevention, are also included.
