The Hyundai Accent 2017 has received safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The NHTSA granted the newest model a 4-Star Overall Safety Rating. The NHTSA gave the Hyundai Accent four stars out of five for the rollover crash test, frontal crash test, and side impact test. The Hyundai Accent performed poorly in the IIHS’s small overlap front test. The IIHS assessed the side impact test as satisfactory, while the other crash tests were rated as excellent, the best grade attainable. To protect passengers in the event of a collision, the Hyundai Accent includes side airbags and a driver knee airbag.
