The Ford Focus 2017 model has been assessed for security ratings by the Highway Assurance Institute (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Authority (NHTSA). Four stars, out of five, were granted the Ford Focus for NHTSA’s rollover crash and frontal collision test. A five-star overall NHTSA safety rating was granted to the newest model.
According to the IIHS, Ford Focus was considered acceptable in a small overlapping front test, but the other crash tests were considered to be good at the maximum attainable rate. The Ford Focus is equipped with side airbags and knee airbags for the drivers’ protection during crashes. The newest model has anti-lock brakes and a roll-over sensor to give passengers more safety.
According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau of 2013, the Ford Focus was the 10th most stolen new car. 483 robberies have been registered.
